Description

Delicious bacon wrapped green beans bundles, roasted to perfection with a buttery garlic glaze and lightly sweetened with brown sugar substitute. A savory side dish perfect for any dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Bean Bundles

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 6 slices bacon

Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar substitute
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place a wire rack on top of a large cookie sheet to prepare for roasting.
  2. Prepare green beans: Wash and dry the green beans, trimming off the ends. Take 5 to 10 green beans and wrap them tightly in a strip of bacon, then place the bundles seam side down on the wire rack. Repeat with all green beans and bacon.
  3. Make glaze: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar substitute and garlic powder until fully combined. Remove from heat.
  4. Apply glaze and season: Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the green bean bundles. Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly over the bundles to taste.
  5. Roast covered: Cover the bundles with foil and roast in the oven for 35 minutes to cook the green beans and infuse flavors.
  6. Crisp bacon: Remove the foil and continue roasting for an additional 15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the green beans are tender.

Notes

  • Use fresh green beans for best texture; frozen green beans can be used but may alter texture slightly. Avoid canned green beans as they may become mushy.
  • Thin cut bacon works best for crispiness; thick cut bacon might not crisp as well.
  • Adjust salt and pepper to your preference when seasoning.
