Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
Decorations
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts for drizzling (optional)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl.
- Mix into dough: Use a handheld mixer to blend the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Stir in the festive sprinkles thoroughly.
- Form truffle balls: Scoop the dough using a tablespoon and roll it between your palms to form balls. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet and repeat until all dough is used.
- Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using the microwave or double boiler method until smooth.
- Dip truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each cake ball fully in the melted white chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off and return the coated balls to the baking sheet.
- Prepare red candy drizzle: Melt the red candy melts in a piping bag or ziplock bag in the microwave in 30-second bursts, massaging the bag between each interval to ensure an even melt.
- Decorate truffles: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the truffles. Sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for decoration.
- Set and chill: Place the decorated truffles in the refrigerator for a few minutes to allow the coatings to set before serving. Enjoy your festive treats!
Notes
- Use a handheld mixer for easy blending of cakes into dough; alternatively, crush by hand but mixing will be less uniform.
- Choose white chocolate or candy melts depending on your preference for sweetness and ease of melting.
- If you don’t have red candy melts, colored icing or melted colored chocolate can work as a substitute for drizzle.
- Allow the coated truffles to firm up completely in the fridge for best texture before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
