- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup butter, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 lb spaghetti noodles
- 3 cups heavy cream
- ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
- ½ cup shredded parmesan
- 6 strips of bacon, cooked and chopped
Optional Toppings
- additional BBQ sauce
- additional cooked and chopped bacon
Instructions
- Prepare Crock Pot: Spray the inside of the Crock Pot well with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Add Chicken and Seasonings: Place the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of the pot. Add chicken broth, butter cubes, chopped garlic, salt, and pepper over the chicken.
- Cook Chicken: Place the lid on the pot and cook on HIGH for 2 hours until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Remove Chicken: Use tongs to transfer the cooked chicken breasts to a cutting board and set aside.
- Add Spaghetti Noodles: Break spaghetti noodles in half and add them to the crock pot.
- Add Cream and BBQ Sauce: Pour the heavy cream and BBQ sauce into the pot with the noodles.
- Cook Spaghetti: Cover again and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes, stirring the spaghetti once approximately 15 minutes into cooking to prevent sticking.
- Slice Chicken: While the spaghetti cooks, slice the cooked chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
- Add Chicken, Cheese, and Bacon: After the 30-minute spaghetti cook time, add sliced chicken, shredded parmesan, and chopped cooked bacon to the pot. Stir well to combine.
- Final Cooking: Return the lid and cook on HIGH for an additional 15 minutes to meld flavors and finish cooking.
- Serve: Top with additional BBQ sauce and chopped bacon if desired just before serving. Enjoy your hearty BBQ Alfredo Chicken Spaghetti!
Notes
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can reduce the heavy cream slightly or cook uncovered for a few minutes at the end.
- Use gluten-free spaghetti noodles to make this dish gluten free.
- For a smoky flavor without bacon, you can add smoked paprika or chipotle seasoning.
- Make sure to spray the crock pot well to avoid noodles sticking to the bottom.
- Breaking spaghetti in half helps it fit better and cook evenly in the crock pot.
- This recipe can also be adapted to an Instant Pot by using the sauté function and pressure cooking the chicken first.
