Description

Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders are classic baked chicken tenders elevated with flavorful and crunchy everything bagel seasoning, including garlic, onions, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds. These tenders are crispy, golden-brown, and perfect for a delicious and easy meal served with your favorite dipping sauces.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Tenders

  • pounds chicken breast tenders
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup plain bread crumbs (can also use pork panko crumbs)
  • 1½ tablespoons everything bagel seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons olive oil spray
  • Dipping sauces, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and set aside for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare egg wash: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined. Set this aside for dipping.
  3. Mix breading: In a separate bowl or plate, combine the flour, plain bread crumbs, everything bagel seasoning, and paprika. This mixture will coat your chicken tenders for maximum flavor and crunch.
  4. Coat chicken: Dip each chicken tender first into the breading mixture, then into the egg wash, letting excess drip off. Finally, roll the tender again in the breading mixture to ensure a double-coated, crispy crust.
  5. Arrange on baking sheet: Place the breaded chicken tenders evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet, which prevents sticking and allows even cooking.
  6. Apply oil spray: Lightly spray the coated chicken tenders with 1 to 2 teaspoons of olive oil spray to help crisp the coating during baking.
  7. Bake first side: Bake the tenders in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Flip and finish baking: Carefully flip each chicken tender over, spray the other side with olive oil spray, and bake for an additional 8 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  9. Rest and serve: Remove the tenders from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes to lock in juices. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use pork panko crumbs for an extra crunchy texture if preferred.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the baking sheet to allow air circulation for crispiness.
  • Olive oil spray helps achieve a crisp crust without deep frying.
  • Let chicken rest after baking to keep it juicy.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit for safe consumption.
