Ingredients
Scale
Spice Mix
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) and arrange a rack in the middle of the oven for even cooking.
- Prepare Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using. Mix thoroughly.
- Season Wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish. Sprinkle the spice mix evenly over the wings and toss to coat them well. Drizzle olive oil over the wings to help crisp the skin.
- Bake Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until golden and crispy, turning them halfway through for even browning.
- Make Garlic Sauce: While the wings bake, melt the butter in a small pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, stirring gently until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: Once the wings are cooked, remove the baking dish from the oven. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the wings, ensuring they are well coated. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Crisp Wings Further: Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set and the Parmesan to brown slightly, creating a crispy finish.
Notes
- TO STORE: Transfer leftover wings to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- TO FREEZE: Store leftovers in a shallow container in the freezer for up to 6 months.
- TO REHEAT: Reheat chicken wings in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess.
- Optional baking powder helps achieve a crispier skin but can be omitted if unavailable.
- For extra heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the spice mix.
