Description

These festive Grinch Christmas Truffles are a delightful holiday treat featuring crushed Oreos mixed with cream cheese, dipped in green-tinted vanilla almond bark, and topped with red heart sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or gifting, these no-bake truffles are easy to make and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36 regular Oreos
  • ½ cup whipped cream cheese spread

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 ounces vanilla almond bark
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 18 red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and crush completely into fine crumbs, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Pour the Oreo crumbs into a large mixing bowl and stir in the whipped cream cheese spread until the mixture is thick and well combined. Using clean hands makes mixing easier.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Scoop the mixture into balls using a 1½ tablespoon cookie scoop and roll each ball smoothly. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the truffle balls for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until they are firm enough for dipping.
  5. Melt Almond Bark: Place the vanilla almond bark in a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Stir well, then continue microwaving in 15 to 30 second increments, stirring between each, until completely melted. This should take about 2 minutes total.
  6. Add Food Coloring: Stir green gel food coloring into the melted almond bark until you reach the desired shade. Avoid liquid food coloring as it can cause the almond bark to seize.
  7. Dip Truffles: One by one, dip each truffle ball into the melted almond bark until fully coated. Let excess coating drip off and then place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Decorate: While the coating is still soft, place one red heart sprinkle on top of each truffle.
  9. Final Chill: Return the decorated truffles to the refrigerator for an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until the coating is completely hardened.
  10. Serve: Serve chilled or at room temperature as a festive holiday treat.

Notes

  • Store truffles covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze truffles well wrapped in a freezer-safe bag or container for 3 to 4 months.
  • You can substitute any favorite Oreo variety instead of regular Oreos.
  • Regular cream cheese can be used in place of whipped cream cheese, but it should be softened to room temperature and you may need slightly less than ½ cup.
  • Feel free to use any heart-shaped candy or sprinkles you like to decorate, or omit decorations altogether for a simpler look.
  • Using your hands to combine the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese makes the process easier than using a spoon.
  • Do not use liquid food coloring in the almond bark as it causes seizing and affects the texture.
