Description

This refreshing Peach Iced Tea combines freshly brewed tea with a homemade peach syrup, delivering a deliciously sweet and fruity beverage perfect for warm days. Made with natural ingredients like honey, sugar, and peaches, this iced tea is easy to prepare and serves as a delightful thirst quencher.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family size tea bag

Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or fresh peaches, peeled and sliced)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches (do not thaw; if using fresh peaches, slice and freeze until ready to serve)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add the family size tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes. Pour the brewed tea into a 2 quart pitcher and set aside to cool.
  2. Make the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar and honey are completely dissolved. Add the pureed peaches, return to a low boil briefly, then remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Strain the Syrup: Pour the peach mixture through a mesh sieve over a bowl, pressing the peaches to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the peach pulp and reserve the syrup.
  4. Combine Tea and Syrup: Add the peach syrup gradually to the brewed tea, tasting as you go until the desired sweetness is reached. Typically, 1 to 2 cups of syrup for 4 cups of tea yields a pleasantly sweet flavor.
  5. Serve: Divide the frozen peaches into 4 glasses, add ice cubes, and pour the sweetened peach tea over the peaches and ice. Stir gently and serve immediately.
  6. Storage: Store any unused peach syrup in the refrigerator for future use. Leftover tea can also be refrigerated.

Notes

  • Frozen peaches work well if fresh peaches are not available, preserving the peach flavor in the syrup.
  • If using fresh peaches for serving, slice and freeze them ahead of time to keep the drink chilled without diluting it with melting ice.
  • Adjust peach syrup quantity according to personal sweetness preference.
  • Store leftover iced tea and syrup in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • For a stronger tea flavor, allow the tea to steep longer or add an additional tea bag.
