Description

A refreshing Sparkling Watermelon Lime Mocktail that combines fresh watermelon juice with zesty lime and sparkling soda water, garnished with mint and lime slices for a perfect summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed fresh watermelon
  • ⅓ cup fresh lime juice (approximately 34 limes)
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • Soda water (to top up)
  • Extra lime slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into cubes, discarding the rind and any white parts to ensure only the sweet red flesh is used.
  2. Blend Ingredients: Add the watermelon cubes and fresh lime juice to a blender and blend until smooth, using a tamper if necessary. If your blender is small, work in batches to blend all the watermelon.
  3. Strain Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any pulp, then transfer the strained juice to a jug to ensure a smooth beverage.
  4. Assemble the Drink: Fill glasses or a large pitcher with crushed ice. Pour the watermelon lime juice into each glass or pitcher until it is halfway full.
  5. Add Soda Water and Garnish: Top each glass or pitcher with soda water to fill the remaining space. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime slice for presentation and added aroma.
  6. Serve Immediately: Serve the sparkling watermelon lime mocktail immediately to enjoy its fresh, fizzy taste.

Notes

  • If you don’t have crushed ice, place ice cubes in a zip-lock bag and crush them with a rolling pin for the same effect.
  • Adjust the amount of lime juice to suit your taste – add more for extra tang or reduce slightly for a sweeter mocktail.
  • Using fresh ingredients is key for the best flavor and freshness in this mocktail.
