Description

This Valentine Snack Mix is a delightful and festive treat perfect for celebrating the holiday of love. It combines a crunchy mix of cereals, pretzels, and colorful Valentine’s Day M&M’s coated in creamy white chocolate, making it an irresistible sweet and salty snack that's easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix

  • 2 cups Corn Chex® cereal
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists
  • 2 cups Rice Chex® cereal
  • 2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios cereal or plain Cheerios
  • 1 cup Valentine’s Day M&M’s (red, white, and pink), divided

White Chocolate Coating

  • 3-1/4 cups white chocolate chips (just under 2 bags)
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil or canola oil

Optional Toppings

  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside to use later for spreading the coated snack mix.
  2. Mix the Snacks: In a very large bowl, combine the Corn Chex, mini pretzel twists, Rice Chex, Honey Nut Cheerios, and 1 cup of Valentine’s Day M&M’s. Stir gently to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine 3 cups of white chocolate chips and the vegetable oil. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir for 15 seconds. Microwave again for 15 seconds and stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. If not fully melted, continue microwaving in 15-second bursts, stirring 10 seconds between each, until smooth.
  4. Coat the Snack Mix: Pour the melted white chocolate over the snack mix in the large bowl. Quickly and gently stir until all the ingredients are evenly coated with white chocolate.
  5. Spread and Decorate: Immediately transfer the coated snack mix to the prepared sheet pan and spread it into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining Valentine’s M&M’s on top along with optional Valentine’s Day sprinkles. For extra decoration, melt the remaining 1/4 cup white chocolate chips, place in a small plastic bag, cut a small tip, and pipe stripes across the snack mix.
  6. Set the Chocolate: Allow the white chocolate to firm up and harden at room temperature or place the pan in the refrigerator for about 10–20 minutes until firm.
  7. Serve: Once set, break the snack mix into pieces and serve. Enjoy your festive Valentine Snack Mix!
  8. Feedback: Don’t forget to leave a review to share how you liked this delicious treat!

Notes

  • Store leftover snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
  • For longer storage, freeze the snack mix in a sealed container or bag.
  • Use plain Cheerios if Honey Nut Cheerios are unavailable.
  • You can substitute vegetable oil with canola oil or another neutral oil for melting chocolate.
  • If white chocolate doesn’t melt smoothly, use shorter microwave bursts and stir frequently to avoid burning.
  • Additional mix-ins like nuts or dried fruits can be included for extra texture and flavor.
